Program Overview

This program is offered by Simon Page College in collaboration with Lincoln University College Malaysia, following the receipt of the Grant of Authority to Collaborate issued by the Commission for University Education [CUE] in Kenya.

Admission Requirements

  1. West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE/WAEC) or NECO with at least 5 credit passes including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings.
  2. WAEC/NECO with at least 5 credit passes (including English and Mathematics) in not more than two sittings, plus a National Diploma (ND) with at least Lower Credit from a recognized Polytechnic or College of Technology.
  3. GCE A-Level with at least 2 principal passes plus 5 O-Level credit passes including Mathematics and English Language, OR completion of IJMB with acceptable points for direct entry.
  4. A National Diploma (ND) or professional certificate (e.g., ICAN ATS, Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria certifications) from a recognized institution for Direct Entry admission.
  5. Higher National Diploma (HND) from a recognized Polytechnic OR Professional qualifications such as ICAN (Chartered Accountant), ANAN, CIS (Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers), or CIPM for direct entry consideration into related programs.

Foreign Qualifications

To be admitted to the BBA program, applicants must meet the prescribed entry requirements. All applicants with foreign qualifications must get the qualifications equated to those of the Kenyan Education System for purposes of admission. The 2 equating bodies are:

  • Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC)

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) equates school and post school certificates. The Kenya National Examinations Council has automated the process for submitting applications for Equation of Foreign Qualification by clients. Click for more info 

  • Commission for Universities Education (CUE)

The Commission for University Education (CUE) undertakes recognition and equation of Diplomas, Degrees, postgraduate Diplomas and Post-Graduate Certificates conferred or awarded by Foreign Universities and Institutions. Click for more info.

Credit Transfer to the Program

Students registering with accredited diplomas and degrees may be permitted to transfer relevant credits into the BBA program for previously acquired courses, provided they earned a grade B or equivalent in the course proposed for transfer. Additionally, a candidate enrolled in another university recognized by the LUC Senate may be permitted to transfer credit to a university program if the candidate meets the Senate’s requirements. The maximum number of courses that may be waived or transferred for credit shall not exceed 49% of the total number of course units required for the entire program.

International Students

Foreign students who wish to attend the face-to-face program in Kenya must obtain a Kenya Student Pass. This is a document issued to applicants (foreign students) (section 30(1) of the Kenya Citizenship and Immigration Regulations 2012, who wish to pursue their education in Kenya’s Education or Training Institutions where they have been accepted or admitted. The applicant (foreign student) must show proof of acceptance by an approved Educational or Training Establishment.

Duration

The course is to be completed in 4 academic years. Each academic year has two 15-week semesters. In the final semester, you will undertake an internship and submit an internship-based report as the final assessment.

Credits Required

A total of 135 credits is required for students to graduate.

Study Abroad

Under this program, you will have the option of studying 2 academic years at Simon Page College in Kenya, after which you can join any of the 3 partner campuses below for the remaining 2 years:

  1. Lincoln University College Main Campus, Petaling Jaya, 10km west of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
  2. Southern Cross University Lismore Campus located in the city of Lismore NSW, Australia
  3. International American University in Los Angeles, state of California, USA.
